We are situated right in the heart of Britain! Roeburnscar lies in the wooded valley of Roeburndale, half a mile up the river Roeburn going South from Wray Village. This is on the Northern edge of the Forest of Bowland AONB in Lancashire. Yorkshire Dales 15 mins drive, Lake District 25 mins drive. M6 Motorway 15 mins.

Regular buses from Wray to Lancaster, Kirkby Lonsdale, Ingleton and Bentham Stagecoach buses 80, 81a, 81b Train stations: Wennington 3 miles (Leeds to Lancaster) Lancaster 12 miles Travelling from a distance: Seat 61 will help you travel from abroad by train, bus and boat.
Directions: IF COMING FROM NORTH: M6 exit J35 for B6254 towards Kirkby Lonsdale/Arkholme via Over Kellet , turn right at junction towards Hornby/Gressingham before Arkholme and then to Hornby via Gressingham and bridge over Lune, then through Hornby , go straight on at Post Office (don't turn right) , turn left at crossroads onto B6480 towards Wray.
IF COMING FROM SOUTH: M6 exit J34 for A683 towards Kirkby Lonsdale , via Caton and Claughton then onto B6480 (to Bentham) until you get to Wray.
AT WRAY: Turn right if coming from Hornby/Caton direction into Wray village or left if coming from Wennington at big white house facing the entrance to village . On the main street, go past George and Dragon pub and Post Office and then cross the Roeburn river bridge, immediately turn sharp right at Bridge House Tea Rooms onto Roeburndale East road and follow the river upstream with river on your right.
If coming from Low Bentham , the back way, turn onto Roeburndale East road adjacent to the river, turning left before the bridge at Bridge House Tea Rooms on right .
ON ROEBURNDALE EAST ROAD Go past:small row of cottages on left, allotments on left at bend, cluster of mill houses and cottages on left and right. Entrance to Roeburnscar's drive is on right after field-don't go up the hill where the road bends to the left. If you have missed the entrance and have gone up steep hill, you will see Roeburnscar on your left coming down the hill. After leaving the tarmac, there is a cattle grid at the entrance to the drive-go over cattle grid past two gate posts.
